Hip Roll/Bum Roll,
c. 1470-1650

This well padded fabric roll encircles the body below the waistline, distributing the weight of skirts to the hips, rather than dragging at the waist. Helps achieve the big-hipped silhouette characteristic of the period. Modest bum rolls used by lower class women, with proportionately larger ones as the social stature increases.
One Size Fits Most.
