Original in Royal Ontario Museum U. of Toronto. This dress demonstrates the popularity of wide skirts at the time. It has flat pleats, ornamental lacing at the back, front hook closures and fashionable wide short sleeves over detachable pagoda sleeves, ornamented with small buttons. The bodice & skirt are fully lined. Incl. sizes 6-16.

As featured in Frank Leslie's Monthly, July 1861. Original evening dress was made of white and pink tarletane, with six alternate skirts of two colors. The lower skirt has a single puff of tarletane around the edge. The Grecian corsage is slightly pointed in front and behind.

Reproduced from Godey's Ladies' Book. True period version of gown worn in production of Beauty and the Beast. Bottom of skirt formed of many flounces. Low corsage bodice with short sleeves. Over skirt is drawn up in large flounces and held in place by bows and ribbons. Incl. sizes 6-16.

Featured in Frank Leslie's Monthly. Robe of fine tarletane, under skirt puffed around the bottom, worn with tunic. Upper skirt cut square. Low corsage, bertha trimmed with ruches, and sultana sleeves. The skirt is elegantly garlanded with flowers on the front and sides of the upper skirt.

Reproduced from Peterson's Magazine. First Harriet's TCS reproduction was made using cream silk with pink cross grain threads, pink ruche trim on the bodice and skirt. Neckline and sleeves accented with handmade pastel flower buds sewn to a pale green satin cord, alternating with pale green cloth leaves.

A basic ball gown design with Grecian corsage and laced or hooked back closure. Lends itself to trimmings to please anyone who desires a tailored or highly decorated gown. Works well as a dinner or reception dress as well. This style was worn into the 1860's and during the Civil War.
